We recently re-watched Pulp Fiction. So many things I’ve forgotten about that movie, including the huge controversy around a foot massage purportedly delivered to Marcellus Wallace’s wife by one Tony Rocky Horror, hotly debated by Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield.

It’s funny how in the decades (THREE) since that film came out (and I saw it THREE TIMES on the big screen when it did), it became crystal clear what a thing Quentin Tarantino has for feet (whether he admits to having a foot fetish or not, he for sure loves featuring feet in his films) – but – I rarely think about this convo between Vincent and Jules. While I do replay in my mind’s eye some foot-focused Kill Bill and Deathproof scenes regularly.

So what do we think? Is it possible to perform a foot massage on someone without the exchange containing at least a tiny trace of sexual energy? Or do all foot massages “mean something”?
